One in Three of us will develop Cancer

One in three of us will develop cancer at somepoint in our lives.
It is vital that St.Richard’s Hospital in Chichester is able to help in the very best way it can.
Patients with cancer such as lung, breast, bowel, prostate, ovarian, lymphoma and leukaemia are all treated at the hospital, but currently the facilities are simply inadequate. Artist’s impression of the Cancer Day Unit Day care treatment takes place in part of a ward for inpatients with cancer. It is overcrowded and uncomfortable.
There is no focal area designated for patients, so they receive different elements of their care in different areas of the hospital. The new Cancer Day Unit will:
- Improve quality of care locally for patients with cancer
- Provide faster access to services
- Increase the number of patients with cancer receiving local treatment
- Act as an Information Centre for patients, their families and supporters
