Covers training
At Covers, we invest heavily in training and development to make the most of your skills. You could find yourself enjoying on-the-job instruction or off-site training spanning everything from customer service to product knowledge, IT, wood machining and fork lift driving. Everyone that joins us completes a thorough induction programme under the guidance of the Group Training Manager, followed by ongoing training in specific areas, depending upon the nature of your role.
Case study
When I joined Covers 8 years ago, aspects of the business were very different from the high-tech, forward moving company of today. However, the underlying ethics remain unchanged. Everyone is individual. There is a unique opportunity to aspire and climb through the ranks, should you wish to. Take me for example; before I started my career with Covers, I was a Bathroom Designer. I then moved into joinery simply because I knew nothing about it and wanted another challenge! I worked my way up, through sales to become Department Manager. After about 3 years with Covers I was promoted to Depot Manager. In this role the freedom, autonomy and responsibility that the position provides, means that no two days are the same for me. I have overall responsibility for 75 staff, 12 lorries, 4 acres of stock and an £8 million turnover. And tomorrow, who knows... Group Operations Director maybe.
